Minnesota Legislature Adopted Full 5% Rate Increase
2014 Legislature has adopted a full 5% rate increase into their final supplemental budget. The bill is now on its way to the Governor for his signature!
After months of caregivers and DSPs, self-advocates, family members and others attending rally’s at the Capitol, local town hall forums, and writing countless letters to their legislators sharing personal stories on the over-due need for additional funding for Home and Community-Based Services, the 2014 Legislature has adopted a full 5% rate increase into their final supplemental budget! The bill is now on its way to the Governor for his signature, he has indicated support for the increase.
It was your advocacy that made the difference, your personal stories that legislators referred to during floor speeches, and your voice that echoed loudly in the halls of the Capitol during the entire legislative session. The 5% Campaign is thankful to each and every one of you who helped to make this THE priority of the 2014 legislative session.
