The fourth annual Phoenix picnic was held on Sunday, August 16 at Roseville Central Park. The new location for this year’s event worked out great and was a lovely venue. We had another great showing and everyone present had a good time. A lot of family and friends came to visit with their loved ones. The weather was a bit iffy that morning, but it turned out to be a nice day. Thankfully this year we did not have to contend with the bees! We look for ward to hosting this event in the years to come as it has become something everyone looks forward to.
One highlight from this year’s event was the visit we received from the 2009 Saint Paul Winter Carnival Royalty. Thanks to King Boreas Rex LXXIII, Christopher Schneeman and his members of the royal court for their visit to the event. Boreas Rex presented certificates and pins to this year’s nominees and winners for resident and staff of the year. It was a joy to see the smiles on people’s faces as they were being honored.

A special thanks goes out to the members of the Recreation Committee for helping out at this event. A special thank you to all the support staff who worked hard at getting everyone to the event so they could spend time with family and friends. We could not do this without you all! Keep up the good work! Hope to see you at next year's event.
