Gov. Dayton Releases Supplemental Budget

Governor Dayton released his supplemental budget for the 2014 legislative session. In his proposal, Governor Dayton includes $616 million in tax cuts, $162 million in expenditures and allocates $455 million to the budget reserve.
Within the $162 million in new expenditures, the Governor has included a 4% rate increase for home and community based services providers with a quality component. Details of the quality component are not immediately available. March 5, the 5% bill passed out of the House HHS Policy Committee with a unanimous vote of 20-0. The bill will now be heard in the House HHS Finance Committee.
