Election Day is Right Around the Corner

Here's all you need to know about voting in the upcoming election!

We are officially less than 2 weeks from Election Day, so we wanted to share some important voting information with you. This is a very important year to vote! Not only is there a Presidential Race, but also many other races happening as well!

Here are the races we will be voting on:

Federal Level:

  • U.S President & Vice President
  • Minnesota U.S. Senate seats
  • U.S. House of Representative Seats – all 8 are up for grabs!

State Offices:

  • All Minnesota House of Representatives seats
  • Minnesota Supreme Court Judges

And then depending on where you live, you may have City Officers, School Board Members, or Local Ballot questions.

Early voting is now open, so you can cast your ballot any time by November 5th (Election Day).

ELIGIBILITY:

To vote, a person must be 18 or older by Election Day, a U.S. Citizen, a resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days, not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction, and not under a court order that revokes your right to vote.

HOW TO VOTE:

  1. Vote By Mail: You can now request a ballot to vote by mail.
Ballots must be received by local election offices by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. Request your mail-in ballot here: https://mnvotes.sos.mn.gov/abrequest/index

You can track your ballot at www.mnvotes.gov/trackmyballot  You WILL need a witness to sign your mail-in ballot.

  2. Vote Early In-Person: Minnesotans can vote absentee in person at their local election office during business hours between September 20 and November 5. Find your local election office here: www.sos.mn.gov/elections-voting/find-county-election-office/

  3. Vote In-Person on Election Day: Minnesotans can vote in-person at their local polling place on Tuesday, November 5. Find your polling place at mnvotes.gov/pollfinder All polling places are open until 8 p.m. As long as you're in line to vote by 8 p.m., you can vote.

ASSISTING OUR INDIVIDUALS:

The Minnesota Secretary of State created a handout that details Voter Information for Health Care Workers. Please take a look at this and talk with your loved one or the individuals you support about voting. Anyone who wants to vote can vote, so please encourage them to vote as well.

A few things we want to highlight:

  • Voters CAN bring anyone to assist them while they vote, or the election judges can give assistance
  • Voters can request curbside voting, where a ballot would be brought out to the car for them
  • Voters have the right to orally confirm who they are and ask another person to sign if they are not able to
  • Every polling place should have an accessible voting machine that will display the ballot in large print and can be read through headphones.
  • We as a nonprofit must stay bi-partisan and not encourage voting for one candidate over another.

We hope this is helpful! It's so important for us to get out and vote. The people we elect into offices will directly affect all the bills and policies that are passed into law.
