The Phoenix Residence, Inc. Donor Privacy Policy
The Phoenix Residence, Inc. does not copy, reproduce, publish, post, distribute, share or sell, the name, personal contact information or description of donation of donor to any outside individual or business. Exceptions shall be those required by law, requested in grant applications or in connection with bank credit or debit card transactions that may be made without prior knowledge or consent of the donor.
The Phoenix Residence Inc. does acknowledge donors by name and/or description of donation, after the donors have given their permission, in certain printed material such as chapter newsletters, brochures, press releases, event invitations or programs, stationery, solicitation letters, the organization’s website or other means of expressing appreciation for the donors’ assistance. A donor wishing to view samples of these publications may do so by contacting the The Phoenix Residence, Inc. at the address below. A donor wishing to change the status of acknowledgement may do so by contacting the Phoenix Residence at 222 Plato Blvd, Saint Paul, MN 55107 or via e-mail at pconnolly@phoenixresidence.org.
The Phoenix Residence will provide, at least annually, a means (such as a check-off box) for both new and continuing donors to inform the charity if they do not want their names acknowledged on any of the printed material mentioned above. All donations shall be treated individually so that multiple donations from a single donor shall receive the same consideration as if each were the first donation received.
If a donor chooses to opt out of any acknowledgement listings in printed material, the donor’s name and address will be made available only to members and/or staff of the Phoenix Residence, Inc. who are responsible for managing the business of the corporation. A donor may change his or her information at any time by contacting The Vice President of Financial Services at the Phoenix Residence, Inc., or any administrative personnel of this organization at the office listed above.
A printed copy of The Phoenix Residence, Inc. Donor Privacy Policy will be mailed to a donor upon request and is also available on the corporation’s website. All records of donations to The Phoenix Residence, Inc. shall be maintained by the corporation according to the applicable standards of record retention in effect at the time of the donation. All records will be maintained in a secure location.
A donor’s photograph will not be used at any time or in any publication without the donor’s written consent. In the case of a minor, written permission will be obtained from the parent/guardian.
The personal information of donors will not be shared without the written consent of the individual. Exceptions shall be those set forth in by state or federal law. Donor information may be collected on the organizations website, in person or at an event hosted by The Phoenix Residence, Inc., or other organizations. The information collected will be used in accordance with donor expressed wishes with regard to fundraising active or advocacy. The Phoenix Residence, Inc., will make every effort to assure that it website meets security requirements as recommended by law to implement on-line credit card transactions and to protect the privacy of individuals sharing sensitive personal information via electronic means. Information obtained is not retained by the organization. If information is physically provided to personnel of the organization it will be immediately destroyed after used for its intended purpose as indicated by donor. The Phoenix Residence, Inc. is not liable for any information the donor shares with a third party not associated with this organization.
Donations received by The Phoenix Residence, Inc. will be afforded the same considerations as stated in this policy.
