2014 Employee of the Year and Leadership Award Honoree
Congratulations to Ruth Campbell as the Employee of the Year and Kim Phillips as the Leadership Award Honoree!
Ruth Campbell, House Supervisor at Janet Court, is the 2014 Phoenix Residence Employee of the Year – Congratulations Ruth!
Here’s a story about the little engine that could . . . Ruth Campbell started working at Janet Court one morning per week. From that, she started adding more days and more hours to her schedule. Over the years, she worked at several Phoenix homes, gathering knowledge and experience along the way. Ruth put them both to work and became the House Supervisor of Janet Court in 2013.
Ruth works very hard as the House Supervisor and has grown into a strong, confident leader. She leads by example; if there is a job to be done, she just does it. Ruth motivates her team and gives gentle reminders on how we do things. She knows the likes, dislikes, and triggers of the people we serve and she shares the information during training.
Ruth has a special way about her – thank you for all you do at Janet Court!
Kim Phillips, Program Manager at Janet Court, is the 2014 Phoenix Residence Manager of the Year – Congratulations Kim!
Over 20 years ago, Kim Phillips walked through the doors of The Phoenix Residence and the impact she has made will last a lifetime. Kim started as a Direct Support Professional at the newly built English House back in 1993. Shortly thereafter, she accepted a position at the community site Centerville House where she has remained for the past 20 plus years. Caring, compassionate, hardworking, professional - just a few words that describe Kim. She helped form Centerville to the house it is now today.
Kim is a strong and effective advocate for all individuals. The individuals at Centerville are fortunate to have Kim in their lives, and she feels just as blessed. This doesn’t stop within the confines of Centerville House; she is actively in tune to everyone’s needs, wishes or desires.
Kim has also taken the lead of being a wonderful mentor to a co-manager. She is patient, understanding, and a great teacher/role model. She never speaks to anyone condescending; it doesn’t make a difference if you’ve been with Phoenix a day or 25 years, she treats everyone with the same respect. This is not just a job to Kim; it is a way of life.
Thank you Kim for all you do for The Phoenix Residence!
