ADA – Celebrating 25 Years
Many national celebrations are happening throughout the year, including an event at the Minnesota History Center on July 26
Signed into law twenty-five years ago, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is civil rights legislation aimed at increasing the inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of community life, including employment. Many national celebrations are happening throughout the year, including an event at the Minnesota History Center on July 26.
The Minnesota State Council on Disability (MSCOD) is holding an ADA Anniversary Family Day Celebration Event on July 26th, the actual 25th anniversary of the legislation's signing, at the Minnesota History Center. It will include free admission with live music, an open mic, arts activities, and more from noon- 4pm. Anyone and everyone connected to and supportive of the disability community is welcome to attend.
