Leave a Legacy - A Story about Giving
For 40 years, The Phoenix Residence has been recognized as a leader in our industry – help us continue to support individuals with disabilities for years to come
As a nonprofit, The Phoenix Residence relies on donations. The donations we receive help support programs and services not covered by our operational budget such as community engagement activities, music and art therapy, summer camp, staff development, technology – just to name a few. People can contribute several ways . . . volunteer, donate gently used technology, or monetary donations. By supporting our organization, you become an important partner in providing a wonderful quality of life for adults with disabilities.
Consider our Circle of Giving legacy program – leave a legacy through your will, retirement plan or IRA, living trust, life insurance policy, charitable remainder trust, or charitable lead trust. For 40 years, The Phoenix Residence has been recognized as a leader in our industry – help us continue to support individuals with disabilities for years to come. Leave your legacy in memory of your loved one or your family. Here is a story about an ordinary family who showed extraordinary generosity by leaving a legacy in memory of their son, Joe French.
A Story about Giving . . .
Joe French, a young man who moved to The Phoenix Residence was not expected to live more than six months. Joe, described as a big sweetheart previously lived at Dakota Children’s Home prior to moving to The Phoenix Residence. When he first moved to Phoenix, his kidneys were failing, needing dialysis and suffered debilitating seizures daily. At the time, the doctors did not feel he could tolerate dialysis until his body was stronger and healthier.
The dedicated staff at Phoenix along with the guidance of the dieticians provided Joe with a special diet. Soon his health started to improve and he was strong enough to tolerate the dialysis treatment. Joe was a joy; he loved hanging out with the guys and watching the maintenance staff work at the Phoenix main building.
Joe passed away after 13 years of living at The Phoenix Residence – doctors contributed his long life to the excellent care he received at The Phoenix Residence.
