Phoenix Residence is Selected as Community-Based and Service Learning Partner

The Phoenix Residence has recently partnered with Inver Hills Community College and Century College as a Community Partner.  A Community Partner offers students an opportunity to learn in a community setting, gaining real-world work experiences. 

Many courses of study require students to complete a service learning opportunity throughout the school year.  Majors such as human services, nursing, or psychology making Phoenix Residence a perfect fit.  We have received favorable feedback and are in the process of placing eight students within our community sites. 

The students are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours; many students would like to volunteer once the requested amount is complete. Students are asked to participate in daily living activities with individuals we serve. Activities include playing games, socializing and companionship, community outings, review programming, meal planning/preparation, and other tasks as assigned.
