Volunteer Spotlight - Beth Carpenter

The Phoenix Residence would like to recognize Beth Carpenter as the Volunteer Spotlight for the month of January.

Beth, a student at Century College in White Bear Lake, is studying Medial Assisting (MA). As a requirement of the MA program, Beth must complete 20 hours of service-learning to graduate. Service-learning is a component of many programs and degrees; students partner with a nonprofit organization while gaining real-world experience along the way. Beth however has decided to commit 4o plus hours to her service-learning commitment and will receive special honors during graduation.

Beth has partnered with English, spending two hours a week at the house. Along the way, she has forged a special relationship with Lizzy.  Beth has kept Liz very busy these last couple of months; going for walks, painting nails, baking, wrapping holiday gifts, and bell ringing at Festival Foods.  Next semester Beth will be shadowing our nursing staff

After graduation, Beth would like to work at the Fairview Clinic in Wyoming, Minnesota.
