Phoenix Cancels Remaining Fundraisers
Read more about how Phoenix is handling fundraisers this year due to COVID-19.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Phoenix Residence decided to cancel all remaining fundraisers for the rest of the year, including the Russ Douglas Phoenix Golf Classic and the Made in the Shade 5K walk, run and roll. We had also been planning the first-ever Phoenix Champions Gala, originally slated for this November, recognizing our amazing staff members. This will be moved to 2021. We feel it is in the best interest of everyone to hold off on any large in-person gatherings at this time.
While we won’t be able to gather together this year, we hope you will continue supporting The Phoenix Residence in some way. For those interested in golfing, we are offering golf vouchers to anyone who donates $125/golfer to use any time this summer at River Oaks Golf Course. Please visit our event page for more information.
We will also be hosting a virtual campaign in September for Made in the Shade to raise funds for adults with disabilities. We hope you will still participate, and we encourage you to still get out and walk around your neighborhood on September 19, 2020. Stay tuned for more information on this virtual campaign!
Reminder: Donations are always encouraged online at www.phoenixresidence.org. Donations can be directed towards a specific house or the organization as a whole. Want to continue supporting us all year long? Consider a monthly or annual donation! We’ll take the donation out directly for you, so you don’t need to worry about the hassle of submitting it every month.
A planned gift, such as a bequest in your will or trust, is another way to ensure The Phoenix Residence can continue our mission for years to come.
We’ll also continue promoting our Close the Gap campaign this year to help provide our direct support professionals a livable wage. For more information on this campaign, please visit our website.
