Last week we announced our Employee of the Year winners, but we want to take time this month to recognize all our staff members who were nominated—that’s an achievement in itself! Throughout January, we’ll be recognizing all the staff who were nominated for these awards– starting with our direct care staff. Here's everyone who was nominated!

Even though I only work the weekends now, he waits until I'm there for my morning shift. His dedication for each resident is great!"

"Tristan is such a jolly guy who has the best disposition with the individuals we serve. Even as a reserve staff to Howard House, Tristan stepped up in a big way when I was on vacation and trained several new staff. Tristan uses every new challenge as a learning experience, and I am grateful to have Tristan as an extension of our team. "Serge is really a Phoenix treasure. He is so versatile and professional. He was crucial to Howard House in the transition of one individual's relocation to us in October. He has a soft caring nature and incredible bedside manner. He cleans and manages his workload efficiently and accepts new training opportunities when they arise. I am always relieved to see when Serge is on our schedule and want him to know how exceptional he is. I know that our individuals are safe in his care! Thank you Serge!"
Ruth Okai - Janet Court
"I'm nominating Ruth Okai as Employee of the Year due to her commitment and dedication to what she does here at Janet Court and every part of Phoenix she works. Ruth goes above and beyond her normal duties, even if she's frustrated because her pay does not commiserate with what she does. She continues to perform effectively. I think now is the time that Phoenix takes a look at one of her critical assets in person of Miss Ruth to begin to appreciate her for her selflessness."
Demarco Jones - Drexel Court
"I'm nominating Demarco Jones from team Drexel. Demarco was one of the first staff members I met who showed me how to work, not just work but attention to detail! He cuts everyone's hair at Drexel, shaves, and bathes them! He leaves the room looking spotless every day, and we always know when Demarco is working because it is the best care I have witnessed here at Phoenix Residence. You could truly feel it when Demarco took his LOA from Drexel for his back surgery!"
Barbara Simms - Foss House
