All About Us!
The English House is located on County Road E between 35E and Highway 61 just east of English Street. Sidewalks are available so it is easy to take walks to the park, to the hockey Arena, restaurants, or just stroll around the neighborhood. We are an active house as we take part in several community activities and enjoy being outside as much as we can. We also like to take several get-a-ways during the year.
Music is a big part of our house with music therapy scheduled twice a month. We enjoy playing board games and the Wii. We also appreciate our own time where we can do what we personally enjoy. Each week, we plan our meals together and in the summer, it is usually on the grill. We attend several day programs, with some of us partially retired. The day programs we attend are PAI, MSS-Ocean, and Northeast Contemporary Services.
Facts about Folks at English
We plan several holiday parties and dances throughout the year. Our house is decorated for each holiday. We also take part in many community activities.
We enjoy volunteering at church and senior centers. Our families are very involved with us and are always there when needed.
What Helps Me Feel Safe and Happy
On a typical week day, we take a bus to our day programs. In the evening and weekends, we enjoy community activities, crafts, and board games.
We often have outings such as walks , going to the park, shopping, or the movies.
